Retrospective Vetting Deadline Reminder   21/01/2018

Retrospective Vetting Deadline

Please see below correspondence regarding Mandatory Garda Vetting.
In line with the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012-2016, FAI Child Welfare Policy and FAI rules: All those engaging with persons under the age of 18 and/or vulnerable persons shall be Garda Vetted.
Any person who was working with children prior to the commencement of the Act and was not previously vetted for that role may continue in that capacity but must apply as a matter of priority to be vetted by the FAI under what is termed ‘retrospective vetting.’
As you are aware the deadline for retrospective vetting is 30th April 2018 but must be completed by 28th February 2018 to ensure applications are process on time.
Failure to ensure that the relevant persons are vetted in accordance with the rules/legislation may result in disciplinary action against the individual and/or the affiliated member and shall also constitute a legal offence.
